FY 2007 U.S. Advanced-Degree H1B Cap Reached (7/29/06)

On July 7, 2006, USCIS updated the current cap count with new data gathered as of July 6, 2006. The number of approved and receipted pending petitions now has reached 14,249. Approximately 700 H1-B Advanced Degree petitions have been received but have not yet been data-entered and receipted. The combined approximate total as of July 6th is 14,949.

Data gathered June 30 and posted to the USCIS website July 6 showed that approximately 14,187 petitions had been approved, data-entered, or received but not yet processed as of June 30, indicating that USCIS had received a little over 760 petitions in the last week. We are seeking further information from USCIS on the volume of receipts.

If history is our guide, members should expect to see a steady increase in submissions now that will continue until the cap is reached.
